My favorite restaurant in downtown Sunnyvale! They're fast, friendly, and the food is delicious. I went last week with my brother, I got a calzone with Pesto, mozzarella, mushrooms, and spicy sausage and it was amazing! My brother got a Pesto chicken pizza and it was cooked perfectly, and had the ideal ratio of sauce, cheese, toppings, and crust. Our waiter, German, was very kind and always present in the room. He brought us refills of our drinks without us having to ask, and when we had finished our meal he brought us some ice cream on the house! They give huge portions, I always leave feeling full and satisfied. I love their calzones, they have great quality ingredients and they prepare the calzone perfectly with an even distribution of fillings throughout. Everyone I take here loves it, my mom says their seafood linguine is the best she's had. Apparently they're going to be renovating the inside of the restaurant soon. I typically prefer to dine outside when the weather is nice, as the central Murphy Street location is great for people watching, but I'm excited to see what they do with the interior. Overall, last week's dining experience was a 10/10 and I'll definitely be back!

Visited on Friday night for the 2 way special and it was such a treat! We got a draft beer and a house white wine to pair with the meal. For starters we chose a green salad with Italian dressing and clam chowder in addition to the garlic bread. We picked pepperoni and mushrooms as our toppings and the pizza was fantastic! Staff was great, very attentive and lovely service! They even brought us a little cup of ice cream to end our meal! We sat indoors in a booth enjoying the decor on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. Definitely plan on continuing to support gumbas!

I wrote a review back in May of 2024 and was disappointed. I had given my favorite Italian Restaurant 2 stars:( I went back last night with friends and their kids and was pleasantly surprised!! Extra friendly and so like I remembered! The food was good, and the staff was VERY friendly. I felt like I was at my Auntie B's house. She married an Italian and learned to cook wonderful Italian food. The decor was the same as I remember over the years (many years), with different tablecloths, but I felt like I was in a new place. LOVED EVERYTHING! So glad you are back Gumba's! I missed you!!!!

We ordered the Linguine Pesto Chicken, Fettuccine al San Francisco, Sausage Polenta, and cannoli. Everything was delicious! The service was amazing and the servings were generous, not like other restaurants. We will definitely be back.

During the summer around June, I had discovered downtown Sunnyvale!! Although I'm a fellow Bay Area resident, I never knew there was such a place like this :D As I walk around downtown with my best friend, we stumble across a scent that drove us into Gumba's!! We ordered two different types of pizzas, and everything was perfect! There was a sweet lady taking our order, but I wasn't able to catch her name. She saw how enthusiastic and crazy we got over food and we savored each bite. The cheese was cheezing and the crust was crusting if you know what I mean. Before we left, the kind waitress brought out ice cream for us as a treat. Later on, in November, a group of friends and I came back to Gumba's to celebrate a birthday. This time, we were able to try some more items on the menu such as calamari and the mozzarella sticks. Compared to the pepperoni pizza I tried in the summer, I enjoyed the margarita pizza as well. The environment in the restaurant is friendly, and to be honest, we ordered roughly 4 dishes, 2 being full sized pizzas, and it filled our stomachs to the end!

So I had the honor of visiting Sunnyvale CA...on this day it was a perfectly warm sunny afternoon leading into a beautiful evening. My friends directed me to the "Historic Murphy Avenue" district of Sunnyvale. I remember the old Sunnyvale when I used to work at Macy*s in the Sunnyvale Town Center which is now a district memory. My friends recommended Gumba's Italian so we indulged in Italian Cuisine. We were greeted by Jerman (Herman) who has been with Gumba's for nearly 22years. Looking at their menu we started off with appetizers of sautéed mushrooms and Frito Misto consisting of prawns, scallops, & calamari. My friends ordered a Pesto Chicken Calzone, Seafood Linguini, and I ordered their Seafood Polenta. Along with our order came a choice of either soup or salad plus they offered us buttery garlic bread on the house! Our appetizers were delicious and soon after our main courses arrived. Everyone enjoyed their meal and to top it off they included Orange Sherbet on the house to finish off our meal. Overall this was a very enjoyable experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Sunnyvale CA. Also, Jerman impressed me because he remembered one of my friends who had been a very good customer in the past...well done Jerman...I'm impressed because I felt welcomed and appreciated...in today's times this means the world to me and my friends! Thank you Jerman for your service...well done my new friend!!!

A Delightful Italian Lunch Experience I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Italian restaurant, and it truly satisfied my craving. We ordered a variety of dishes, each one better than the last. My daughter absolutely loved her Fettuccine Alfredo - the creamy sauce was perfectly balanced. I opted for the Pesto Pasta, which was extra creamy and has quickly become one of my favorites. The Tortellini and Ribeye Steak were also delicious, offering a great mix of flavors and textures. To top it all off, we indulged in the Chocolate Panna Cotta for dessert. I must say, it's one of the best I've ever had - rich, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. The service was outstanding, attentive, and friendly. We chose to sit outside, and the ambiance was just right, making our lunch even more enjoyable. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience, and I'll definitely be back for more!
